DATE FOR YOUR DIARY: FINANCE EVENT COMING SOON
We are busy putting together an impressive array of speakers and presenters for a wide-ranging one-day conference on all aspects of financing a woodland social enterprise. Held at Hill Holt Wood on Thursday 23 November, the event is led by Hill Holt Wood, Shared Assets, Plunkett Foundation and Locality.
It will also feature organisations such as Co-operative and Community Finance and the Prince's Countryside Fund. We'll be discussing a whole range of financing options including generating sales, community shares, loan finance, crowd-funding and blending finance. Workshops will consider corporate social responsibility, grant applications and scaling your enterprise. And we'll host a funding surgery Question Time-style!

We finished off the day enjoying the hospitality of Alan Dyer of Axewoods Cooperative. He and his wife Denise opened their immaculate 'smallholding' to the MLWW gang for an afternoon of discussion and networking. They laid on an incredible feast including authentic woodfired pizza.
The group found it to be a productive day and luckily for us the sun was shining!
